On 7th June Lech Poznań team won championship of Poland. Using the cover of celebrations far right hooligans attacked squat Od:zysk in the centre of Poznań. There was also an attack on anarchist bookshop Zemsta , doors were set on fire and flares had been thrown inside the building through broken windows.

Yesterday we were once again witnesses , how being “antisystem” works in case of the far right. Nationalists, for years infiltrating community of football fans are trying to use popularity of football. After yesterday’s match, strong only in group brown “opponents” of power didn’t attack building of representative of Platforma Obywatelska government- city council.
Their “antisystem” approach revealed itself in smashing up of anarchist bookshop/cafe “Zemsta”. 40 people broke windows and destroyed gate in the listed building. However banks, including those responsible for harassment of tenants and brutal evictions, remained untouched. “Antisystem” activists didn’t move towards unjustly treating them courts or outside remand prison. As a next target they chose Od:zysk squat, social-political centre that serves as home for those, that can’t afford horrendous rents and expensive life in “Green Island”. So people attempting to renovate old, decaying building with their own resources, not taking any grants from the authorities and contesting its politics are the real enemies for the far right. It is towards them that nationalists shouted “We will burn you”. Brave “antisystem” guys revealed once again their true face, hitting at weak and poor, hiding in the crowd of celebrating fans and trying to attack those, that resists them in their brown march.
We will not be intimidated and will still say NO to racism, nationalism, homophobia and intolerance, that with help of rocks, flares and fists far right militants try to impose upon us. We will not idly stand and watch, when places trying to build grass roots anti system social movement are becoming victims of politics of fear.
Those attacks are just the beginning. Far right aims for a confrontation. They say that state doesn;t work and that’s why situation is bad in the country. We say it is bad BECAUSE state works. And it is going to be worse, if power will be in hands of the right calling for sorting out left wing activists, anarchists, national , sexual and ethnic minorities etc. – in short anybody that doesn’t fit THEIR standards of being Polish.
Today once again anarchist squats had been attacked, tomorrow violence will reach universities, schools, streets. Just in last two years there had been racist attacks against Roma in Łódź, Zabrze, Andrychów, Wrocław and other cities of Poland. We will not be intimidated by nationalist terror. Organise yourself! “Right now Poznań anarchist movement needs our solidarity.
